Supply List
- Portable easel (able to support your mixing surface) (please, no paper palettes!)
- Painting knives (RGM #50 recommended)
- A few bristle brushes (optional)
- Paper towels (Viva® recommended)
- Sun hat or visor, & sunscreen
- Light blue pastel pencil (CarbOthello #430) for preliminary drawing
- Small pocket mirror
- White gessoed panels preferred — Ampersand™ brand Gessobords, or canvas panels for color studies
- at least nine 12×16”, 11×14” or 9×12”, and a few 8×10”
- Sketchbook for notes and thumbnails
- Palette Cups / Gamsol or other odorless mineral spirits
Minimum basic palette of oil colors: (Winsor & Newton recommended)
- Titanium White
- Permanent Alizarin Crimson
- Cadmium Red Light or Winsor Red
- Cadmium Yellow
- Cadmium Lemon
- Manganese, Cerulean or Sevres (by “Rembrandt”) Blue – pick one of these greenish blues
- French Ultramarine Blue
