Notes:
- All colors are not required, * indicates the colors that are distinctive on Lord’s palette and the student might want to have some of these
- Before the workshop, regardless if they are colors you usually use or a color I’ve recommended, do not squeeze any fresh paint into your palette. Bring your tubes of paint and on the first day of the workshop, you will assess the location of all of your paint colors and you might need to rearrange them.
Equipment & Supplies
- Watercolor palette
- Cotton painting rag or two
- Sketchbook & pencils
- Board(s) clips
- Watercolor paper (Arches 140# Cold Press, and Stonehenge Aqua 300# Cold Press, usually cut to 11” x 15”, sometimes 15” x 22”)
- Brushes (Lord uses a Robert Simmons Goliath #36)
- Hat
- Long sleeve collared shirts to protect from sun, (Lord wears painting gloves: white gloves with fingers cut off)
- Sunblock
- Portable stool (Lord prefers to sit on a lidded contractor’s bucket topped with a foam pad)
- Easel, if you prefer to stand to paint
