Carmel Visual Arts presents another studio music event when GRAMMY®-nominated indie rockers The Choir perform a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their landmark album, Circle Slide. The band is marking the milestone with a unique experience featuring the seminal album played live and electric in its entirety. A Choir show is always an event, however this tour represents a unique opportunity to experience the band live – including founders Steve Hindalong and Derri Daugherty – as they cover their iconic 1990 release from beginning to end.
The Choir’s music has been described by the Los Angeles Times as “magical songs that combine strains of murky psychedelia with pure pop”. Billboard praised the band for its “dark poetic leanings, effects-laden guitars and strong melodic hooks”. Adding excitement to the attraction, longtime friend Michael Roe of 77s fame will join the band on bass for their set. The night will also showcase a special acoustic set by Roe, featuring songs from a deluxe anniversary reissue of the classic 77s Pray Naked album.
